Coagulation

Brochure

Coagulation, commonly known as blood clotting, is a complex physiological process that aids in the prevention of bleeding following an injury. It consists of a sequence of processes in which platelets, clotting factors, and other proteins work together to produce a clot or plug that plugs the injured blood vessel. Coagulation is a critical component of the body’s hemostasis system, which balances preventing excessive bleeding and supporting regular blood flow. Coagulation abnormalities can result in bleeding illnesses such as haemophilia or clotting disorders such as deep vein thrombosis.
